Granola - homemade crunchy muesli
Starting the day with a healthy, homemade breakfast sounds like too much effort for you? It doesn't have to be. With our recipe for homemade granola, you can prepare a large batch and be prepared for the next few days. Now all you need is some yogurt and fresh fruit, and your day begins with a balanced meal. And to top it off, a delicious cup of our makasol Inner Strength herbal tea. Delicious!
This is what you need:
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 250 g oat flakes
- 80 g nuts (mixed cashews and hazelnuts)
- 80 g pumpkin seeds or other snack seeds
- 1 pinch of salt
- some cinnamon (to taste)
- 3 tbsp maple syrup (or date syrup)
- Raisins or dried fruits (to taste)
And here's how it works:
- To make the crunchy muesli, first preheat the oven to 180°C. Melt the coconut oil. Chop the nuts slightly, if desired.
- In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, pumpkin seeds, salt, and cinnamon. Add the maple syrup and coconut oil and mix well.
- Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes, then turn over and bake for another 5-10 minutes. Check frequently to make sure the muesli doesn't overcook.
- Remove the crunchy muesli from the oven, let it cool down and mix it with the raisins or dried fruit.
